Avaline is co-founded by Cameron Diaz and Katherine Power based on their personal love of wine and desire for higher quality ingredients and greater transparency. They’re launching with a range of clean delicious wines that are made with organic grapes, vegan-friendly, and free of unwanted extras like sugars, colors, and concentrates.

The Origin Story

The friendship between the actress Diaz and the entrepreneur Power traces back to their mutual close friend Nicole Richie, and the idea for their own wine brand grew out of casual conversations about organic groceries, clean skincare, and non-toxic household products. Power has explained that wine is one of the only consumable products that doesn’t list its ingredients on the label, a gap that pushed the pair to dig deeper into the industry.

Product Philosophy

Avaline became the first wine in the U.S. made from 100% organically farmed grapes with no additives, clearly listing both ingredients and nutritional information on the front and back labels. Every bottle is vegan-friendly, contains sulfites below 100ppm, and the front label states the wine is free from added sugar, artificial colors, and concentrates.

The brand launched with a Spanish white and a French ros?, and later, in response to strong consumer demand for those first two wines, introduced Avaline Red – the third addition to the lineup, also made from organic grapes and free of unnecessary additives.

Growth and Recognition

By 2023, Avaline had reached $20 million in sales, and the brand has continued expanding its retail footprint, now available at major retailers like Total Wine & More as well as through its own online store.

That same year, the company also announced a leadership change: Jennifer Purcell was promoted to CEO after helping drive Avaline into the top 150 wine brands in the U.S.
